BRAND INFORMATION
Founded in the city of Buffalo (New York) in 1920 by German immigrant Ehrhardt Koch, New Era Cap Co revolutionized the headwear industry and is nowadays a benchmark for the sector.
The history of the company and its growth is closely linked to American baseball. The first New Era® professional baseball cap was produced in 1934 for the Cleveland Indians’ uniforms. Since then, the American company has been marking fashion trends for sports caps, becoming the exclusive supplier of on-field caps for Major League Baseball in 1993.
Nowadays, in addition to being the official baseball caps manufacturer of all MLB teams, New Era has agreements with several teams from the Korea Baseball Organization, Nippon Professional Baseball, and Australian Baseball League and with other licensed entities such as NBA, NHL and more than 200 North American universities.
In 2012, the company became the official supplier of caps for the NFL and in 2016 for the NBA, making New Era the only brand in sports history to have exclusive on-field, sideline and on court headwear rights for all three major U.S. leagues at the same time. As far as basketball is concerned, the company's image is linked to its ambassadors Paul George, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum and D'Angelo Russell.
New Era is a success story that began as a small family business and over the years has become a multinational company with offices in various cities around the world.
