BRAND INFORMATION
Known for producing iconic sneakers for some of the most ambitious athletes in the world, New Balance is one of the biggest sports brands in the world and continues to grow in popularity year after year.
Founded in 1906 by William J. Riley in Boston, Massachusetts, New Balance was initially dedicated to the sole production of insoles. Only half a century later, in 1960, the brand would produce its first sneaker called the Trackster. But the big explosion of the brand took place after 1972 when on the day of the Boston Marathon of 1972, New Balance was bought by Jim Davis. Davis, who has since been the brand's president, has maintained the company's traditional commitment to individual preferences, continuing to offer New Balance models in a variety of sizes. New Balance started using unique model numbers instead of names for its sneakers. These numbers defined the type of footwear, the activity for which they were designed and whether they were built for stability or speed. Since then, models such as the 320, 574, 990, 991 or 997 have become authentic popularity phenomena.
Today, New Balance is a multinational giant that manufactures a multitude of sneakers and clothing, including specialized products for sports such as football, cricket, cycling and of course basketball. The recent bet on basketball is very evident by sponsoring Kawhi Leonard, double MVP of the NBA Finals in 2014 and 2019.
